The very first thing I assess is whether it is immediately obvious what I should do first after arriving at a home page, or next after arriving at a landing page. There is an art to guiding users through a system.

Can you take us through your assessment process, Kristi?

When I look at websites, I pretend I am 7 years old. Everything is from that lens.

There's a reason the dot-com bubble burst and why mergers and acquisitions have increased since; if a child can't describe a business' mission statement in a sentence or navigate through a website, there's no way I will either.

How about you?

Great read.
I really enjoyed what Kristi had to say about evaluating the usability of a website, a very well rounded approach that goes beyond "wow this looks cool and the links work".

Congrats Kristi on a great interview!
