One of the most effective ways the iPhone marketing reached me was through the email signatures of my friends and coworkers. The “Sent from my iPhone” that appeared below their emails made me realize which of my friends had the iPhone. It became branding by association. I started to recognize who frequently emailed me from their iPhones, and they are people whose opinions I respect. If I wasn’t locked into an endless contract with Sprint, It might have made me purchase one.
